Scuba Equipment

There are many uses for scuba equipment besides the typical recreational outing. Recreation is actually the smallest portion of scuba divers, most of them are diving as their job. There are a wide variety of jobs that have to be performed underwater with specialized scuba gear.

Scuba equipment allows specialized divers to perform underwater construction and maintenance that would be impossible without it. Welding and repairing boats and off shore rigs can be done much easier underwater than having to dry dock the boat, something that is impossible with most rigs which eventually get cleaned and sunk in the hope they will become reefs with flourishing plant and animal life.

Scuba equipment for professionals is not the same as the gear used for recreational purposes. This makes it more difficult to find and typically much more expensive. Hopefully the business is paying for the tools, but professional divers do make a good chunk of change on their own.
